Revelation in Motion (29): The Owner of All
"It is He who created for you all that is on the earth. Then He turned to the heaven and fashioned them into seven heavens. And He has full knowledge of all things."
(Al-Baqarah 2:29)
Before the Quran
Before revelation, the earth’s abundance was taken for granted.
People claimed ownership over land, water, and resources as if they had made them.
The skies above were filled with myths—gods of sun, moon, and stars ruling in chaos.
Power belonged to those who seized it, and nature was a tool for pride, not gratitude.
After the Quran
The Quran shifted the lens:
Everything on earth is a gift—created for you, but owned by Him.
The heavens are not a cosmic accident—they are precisely designed and perfectly ordered.
And over it all, God’s knowledge is complete.
Nothing escapes His awareness, from the mountains’ weight to the silent beat of a heart.
Our World Today
We mine the earth, pollute its waters, and fill the skies with smoke—forgetting the Giver of it all.
We speak of “our planet” as if it were truly ours.
We marvel at space exploration yet rarely pause to ask: Who crafted the galaxies we measure?
We’ve replaced the ancient myths with modern arrogance.
The Mirror
This verse is an invitation to humility.
To see the world not as a possession, but a trust.
To lift our eyes from the ground and remember Who shaped the heavens above.
The earth is for us—but not ours.
The skies are beyond us—but not beyond Him.
And every gift demands an answer:
How have you treated what belongs to God?
